Nashville-based chef, Miguel Trujillo. Miguel’s passion for cooking began on a stool in his grandmother’s kitchen, watching her prepare amazing dishes she created from scratch for large family gatherings and smelling her handmade cinnamon rolls as they came out of the oven. At a young age Miguel understood the magic of gathering around the dinner table to spend time with family and friends – and what it took in the kitchen to create that magic. 

That foundation was later deepened by another powerful influence: Miguel’s grandmother from the Canary Islands. An extraordinary home cook, lived off the land and made nearly everything by hand. She believed deeply that food should be both beautiful and nourishing, often reminding others that “you eat with your eyes first.” Her philosophy continues to shape Miguel’s approach today—where thoughtful presentation, simplicity, and respect for ingredients are just as important as flavor.

As a teenager Miguel acquired a passion for Spanish cuisine through his travels to Spain and the Canary Islands, his father’s birthplace. Although Miguel has a special love for and expertise in Spanish food -- croquettes, paellas, papas -- he is well versed in all types of cuisine -- from American to Mexican to Italian and more. Miguel’s dishes are always prepared using simple, high-quality and seasonal ingredients and are artfully presented.
